This is the first time the area will be used for an orienteering event. It has been popular for snowshoe races for several years. The area is characterized by several steep hills, very open woods and an extensive trail network. The base map is from a 1:20,000 topographic map with 10 metre contours. Field work has been done to correct and add features but those 10 m contours will still take some adjustment.
