The Atlas Mad Trapper Snowshoe Series

Welcome to the Atlas Mad Trapper Snowshoe Series, just 40 minutes north of Ottawa near Wakefield, Quebec. This is eastern Canada's oldest, biggest and best winter snowshoe series. This year we plan on offering 4 races including the Canadian National Snowshoe Championships. This is the first year we're attempting to offer a race in December. Previous years have taught us that we generally have a lot of snow in early and mid December, but then it frequently melts around the new year. So let's see if Mother Nature cooperates with us this season: December 13, 2008 - The "Flatter" Course January 24, 2009 - The Hilly Course February 21, 2009 - Canadian National Snowshoe Championships March 7, 2009 - Mad Trapper Series Finale

Each event will continue to offer the Solefit 5k or Atlas 10k options. Prizing will once again be abundant and be awarded more randomly than based on performance results. This year the Mad Trapper Series Champions (both 5 and 10k) will be awarded based on a points system of an individuals top 3 race finishes. Competitors vying for the title need not compete in all 4 races, but they may, and their top 3 results will be calculated. All races take place at "the Ark" in Denholm, Quebec (directions can be found by clicking on the "Directions" button on the navigation bar on the left of the page). All races begin at 10am and will be followed by a feast (chili or lasagna, hot soup, cookies, chips, hot chocolate and more). This year we hope to post all race results on this website within 24 hours.
